    For a share that can be protected and follows your changes, save the route and share the saved route: My Routes → open the route → Share. Advanced Share does these steps for you.

    Extra via/shaping points can help other applications or devices follow the exact route as you created it.
    Each routepoint has a 'type' in the GPX. Other applications might check this value and assign certain characteristics for a routepoint. For example, Scenic makes a routepoint typed 'Stop' a stop in the waypoint list and one typed 'Shaping' a via point. Other applications might check for different strings.
